The Food & Nutrition Specialist is accountable for the administration, implementation and overall management of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Care Food Program (CCFP), and Head Start & Early Head Start Nutrition Content area in ChildCareGroup Centers. This position is responsible for the management and accountability of one government contract and meeting all requirements as stated within the contract. This position trains and monitors staff in child care centers to ensure compliance with CACFP, Child Care Licensing (CCL) and Head Start and Early Head Start standards. The Food & Nutrition Specialist provides CACFP leadership as required in areas of record-keeping, menu design, purchasing of food and supplies for centers, submitting monthly claims and monitoring the budget. This position performs under the general direction of the Director of Quality Assurance and the Health/Inclusion Manager with extreme demand for independent judgment.
